Mr. Gillman is the Managing Principal of Crito Capital. Before launching Crito Capital in 2013, he held positions as an investment analyst, portfolio manager, and as a distribution professional. His expertise includes new product development, fund analysis and selection, jurisdictional review, as well as the interplay between legal and commercial issues related to fund launch and new investment strategies.
As the Managing Principal of both Crito Capital LLC and Crito Capital LLP, his responsibilities include sourcing, due diligence, analysis and distribution functions on behalf of client engagements. Mr. Gillman is responsible for working with colleagues to source client mandates and for leading or assisting distribution efforts on each client’s behalf. Current client mandates include work in private equity, venture capital and hedged investment strategies.
Before founding Crito, Mr. Gillman was a Managing Director at Ariane Capital Partners, which he joined in 2011. Prior to his association with Ariane, Mr. Gillman was affiliated with The Rohatyn Group, an investment adviser focused on investing in emerging markets through private investment funds. At Rohatyn, he worked in a number of capacities including US institutional distribution and investor relations as well as private equity product management. Prior to Rohatyn, he held a position in institutional distribution with Davis Advisors. Prior to Davis, he managed the asset management business for a broker/dealer, which included planning and executing new production acquisitions. Prior to Gleacher, he held senior positions at Lazard Asset Management in New York and London. Mr. Gillman began his career after business school at Wilkinson, O’Grady, a New York investment adviser, as an investment analyst.
Mr. Gillman received an undergraduate degree from Tufts University, cum laude, in History and Philosophy. He earned an MBA from The University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business Administration. Mr. Gillman is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He resides in Westport, Connecticut.
